This trail was the medieval route linking two major historic centers in Italy, Assisi (view a video of Assisi; “Things to see in Assisi”) and Gubbio (view video of Gubbio Ceri Festival), located in Umbria.
The trail, named after Saint Francis, who used to walk this route in the 13th century, offers hikers the possibility to visit castles, churches, and medieval settlements, located in the gorgeous countryside of Umbria.
